I find myself amazed by the dedication, care and compassion displayed by the staff here at Lehi. This campus has been a place of safety and security for the students here and the joy and smiling faces reinforces this aspect of school life that is not always prevalent at all campuses. I am thrilled to call myself a Pioneer and an grateful to all the families that allow us to work with their students every day.
I have been in education for 15 years starting out teaching 3rd grade and then moving to 5th grade in the Kyrene School District. I later moved to the Maricopa School District to teach 4th grade. Finally I found a home in our sister Sequoia school in Maricopa called Pathway. This is where I discovered an organization that truly believes that each and every child is an individual and should be given the time and care they truly deserve. I later became the principal and then was presented with the opportunity to help lead a small school and jumped at the chance. I fell in love with the Lehi campus the first time I stepped foot on the grounds. It is not the most glamourous site, but the level of care and love the staff have for these students is unparalleled on any campus I have been on.
My philosophy is that the child comes first. Each and every student can succeed. Each and every student has their own special talents and gifts that can help to advance their growth in the classroom. We as educators need to find what makes them special, hone that individualism and be the instrument of growth for all our students. This philosophy along with the communication and coordination of the school-home will help to guide all of our students to achievements greater than their expectations and help them become wonder people as well as students.
